Interim Assistant Principal
Ms. Katherine Abrego has been appointed as the interim Assistant Principal at Brookfield High School. She will assume Susan Griffin's responsibilities through December 31, 2024. While Ms. Abrego's primary administrative focus will be at Brookfield High School, she will continue to support staff supervision in her departments across the district, with assistance from other building-level administrators. To maintain continuity of service across the district, some of her administrative and clerical tasks at the elementary and middle school level have been reassigned to other certified faculty members.

Ms. Abrego will work from the Assistant Principal’s Office with a primary focus on students and families in grades 10 and 12. She started her work in this role today. She can be reached by email at abregok@brookfieldps.org or by contacting the Assistant Principal’s Office.

Athletic accomplishments
Congratulations to the girls swim team for placing 2nd in the Class M meet this week. Mia Hatzis and Maggie O'Hara set school records. Mia also was first in Class M in both the 50 meter and 100 meter freestyle events.

Our boys soccer team returns to the Class L final game on Saturday in an all SWC matchup with Pomperaug for the championship!

New School Nurse
A new school nurse, Sandra Ransom, will be joining us on December 2. In the meantime, a substitute school nurse has been working and will continue to work in the clinic with Mrs. Perrone.

Youth Commission Event
Brookfield High School will welcome the Brookfield Youth Commission and representatives from our local government on November 21. They will meet with students in the Auditorium to talk about the importance of local government and encourage youth involvement.

PSAT scores now available
9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students who took the PSAT in October can now access their scores in their College Board account or the PowerSchool portal in the DocumentLOK section. Our School Counseling Department has created this resource that provides additional information on understanding PSAT results.

Unified Sports Cornhole Champions
Our Unified Sports team participated in a cornhole tournament this week and the team of Caroline Walters and Tate Ross were crowned as champions. Congratulations!
