COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENT FOR GRADUATION
In order to graduate, all BHS students are required to earn .5 credits by completing fifty (50) hours of community service. The purpose of this requirement is for students to demonstrate positive contributions to the community through active involvement. These hours can be performed in school or within the community for any non-profit organization. Students cannot sign off on community service hours.

- Community service hours must be completed by May 1 of a student’s senior year.
- Seniors who fail to meet community service hour requirements before cap/gown distribution (typically end of May/early June) will not receive their cap and/or gown and will not be permitted to participate in the grad walk (the senior event when students walk through CLES, WMS, and BHS with their class).
- Community service credit of 0.5 for total hours met is recorded on students’ transcripts (the number of actual hours is also included on transcripts).
