School Counseling Info - October

School day arrival

This is a reminder that the official school start time is 7:30 AM. Please allow sufficient travel time to ensure you arrive on campus and are in class before the bell rings.

Please be sure to follow the UPDATED traffic drop-off pattern (click here).  For safety reasons, do not let students out of the vehicle until they are in the drop-off area.  There have been multiple instances of students being dropped off on Long Meadow Hill Road, narrowly avoiding accidents, and causing additional safety concerns.

Chronic tardiness can result in the loss of student parking privileges. Arriving on time is crucial for ensuring students do not miss important instruction.

It could be a parent/guardian note, a doctor's note, or click here to print the attendance form. If you have any questions about attendance, click here to access the document, Understanding BHS-State of CT Attendance Mandates.

School-Based Health Center - Update

The CIFC School-Based Health Center at Brookfield High School operates as an independent healthcare provider and works closely with students, families, and school staff!

CIFC currently provides mental health support several days a week. Please CLICK HERE to read the letter from our School-Based Healthcare therapist, Samatha Mei. She has been a wonderful addition to our community and a fantastic resource for students and families.

12th grade update - Required Community Service Hours

As we approach the end of Quarter 1 on November 6, we want to remind all seniors that they must complete 50 community service hours to graduate. Any senior who has not yet completed a benchmark of 37.5 hours by November 6 will be invited to a graduation status meeting with their school counselor and assistant principal to review next steps and ensure they are on track for graduation. If students have questions about their community service hours, please reach out to your counselor as soon as possible! If you need help logging them, please reach out to your ILT teacher!

Chromebooks

If a student wants to rent a school issued Chromebook, they should go to the Technology department before 7:30 AM to either drop off a check or share that their Chromebook was paid for online through MySchoolBucks. Students will be given a pass to return to the Technology department during ILT to pick up their Chromebook. Click this link for more information on the BHS Chromebook Program for the 2025-26 school year.

Getting to and from school

Click here to access the 25-26 bus routes. In the morning, buses drop students off at the main entrance, and in the afternoon, buses are located both in front of the building and at the auditorium/gym entrance. If a family is dropping a student off in the morning, please click here to access the morning student drop-off procedures. 7:00 AM is the earliest a student should be dropped off. Vehicles picking up students at the end of the day MUST park in the student parking lot and be extremely careful, as this is a VERY busy area with students after school.
