The Brookfield Youth Commission will be hosting its annual Career Day at Brookfield High School on Tuesday, March 24th. The purpose of this event is to inspire and guide our students about the different professions that members of our community represent. We are looking for presenters representing various careers to speak at the event. As one of our past presenters, we wanted to reach out personally to see if you’d like to join us again for the event.

There will be three 30-minute sessions with three different groups of students in grades 9-12.

Agenda for presenters:
9:15 AM - 9:30 AM: Registration, welcome, and overview of the event
9:50 AM - 10:20 AM: Session 1
10:25 AM - 10:55 AM: Session 2
11:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Session 3
11:30 AM - 11:45 AM: Check-out

Each presenter will have their own classroom, accompanied by a hosting teacher. Presenters will remain in the classroom and students will rotate. The presentation should be the same for the three groups. There will be a computer and whiteboard available in each classroom if presenters would like to bring a USB drive with a PowerPoint or other information to share.

Here is a general outline of the type of presentation that we are looking for, as determined by students' own curiosities:

• Describe the path that you took to get to your current career. Did your path change from what you originally planned on doing after high school?
• What inspired you to go into your field?
• Describe what a typical day or week looks like in your field.
• What is the biggest drawback of your occupation?
• Allow 5-10 minutes for students to ask questions at the end of your presentation.
